The Paper Pot Press for Recycled Paper Seed Pots is a simple, practical way to create biodegradable seed pots from strips of newspaper. It helps reduce the need for plastic seed trays and pots while giving seedlings a container that can be planted directly into the soil with minimal root disturbance.
As the paper breaks down naturally in moist soil, seedlings can continue growing without being removed from their pots, making transplanting easier and more environmentally friendly.
How to Use
- Tear a strip of newspaper approximately 16" wide and 16" long.
- Fold the strip in half lengthwise.
- Roll the newspaper around the press with the folded edge at the top of the cylinder, allowing the paper to overhang the bottom.
- Scrunch the lower edge of the paper inward beneath the press.
- Place the wrapped press into the base and push down firmly with a slight twist to crimp the bottom of the pot.
- Slide the finished paper pot off the press and fill with seed-starting mix.
