Thanksgiving is fast approaching and I am already planning how to decorate my Thanksgiving table! Don’t wait until the last minute. I am displaying several of our past Thanksgiving table settings to inspire you to create a table worthy of your celebration.
This year, I’m using a brown Hester & Cook disposable placemat with two facing toms as the base to create from. These placemats work well with my Spode turkey plates. Water glasses in gold hues and vintage silver candy dishes filled with candy pumpkins at each place setting create a warm and inviting scene. Cloth napkins are a must and this year I used a lovely embroidered napkin that reminds us to be thankful. Coordinating Hester Cook turkey place cards ensure each guest finds the perfect seat to facilitate good conversation and bonhomie.
For the centerpiece, I added oversized acorns and ceramic pumpkins in assorted sizes and colors down the middle of the table. This adds texture and the varying heights add interest. Notice the real pressed leaves tucked about this arrangement. (Jim and I always collect autumn leaves for this purpose.) I wanted a more casual look so did not use any formal candlesticks. Instead, I added small votive candles to light my arrangement and bring it to life.
For this Thanksgiving, Jim & I want to share with you our two most beloved pie recipes - Chocolate-Bourbon Pecan & Buttermilk Pecan. We hope you enjoy sharing them with your family this holiday season.
